Mission: The Nursery
Location: Various

Red Lighting bathed the bridge crew at their stations. The Tokyo sat hidden behind the moon that was orbiting the nearest planet to the 'Nursery'. The ship was stationary as the last of the Starfighters got into their assigned formations.

Taiga sat in her seat, watching as the Starfighters formed either side of the Tokyo. "Bridge to Starfighter Lead."

"Starfighter Lead here." Fubuki's voice replied. She gripped her control sticks tightly as she looked over to her port. She could see Twin-Tails fighter close to her and she felt reassured.

"We're ready to start maneuvers over the planet and our attack run on the Nursery. Lieutenant Yuvek will be sending you the flight plan shortly." Taiga said. She raised a hand and pointed at Yuvek at the helm, the universal signal to do what she just said.

Lieutenant Yuvek took a deep breathe and exhaled quietly as he steadied himself. He began to transmit the plan to Lt. Kuchikukan on the secure transmission so as to not try the attention of the Elachi facility.

Just as they had anticipated, the magnetic interference from the moon's northern axis was causing significant interference with their sensors. The Elachi couldn't see them, but unfortunately, the Tokyo and her fighter escorts would not be able to see any Elachi vessels near the moon either.

The gravitational pull of the moon was not as strong as what would be expected around a much larger planet. Thankfully, the group of vessels would be able to use it to guide them over the northern axis at just enough speed that by the time the Elachi facility had detected their presence, the small strike force would already be within striking facility.

"Is everyone ready?" Taiga asked as she looked around at her officers. "We need to time this perfectly, so I want everyone to report in before we do this."

"Helm, ready ma'am. I've transmitted the information to Lt. Kuchikukan and we're already in a tight formation moving towards the northern pole." Lieutenant Yuvek responded.

"Intel ready, Captain," Chisato reported from her station. "My team has been debriefed on their assignment and will be beaming down with the away team to recover any additional information we can gather on both the Elachi and their agenda."

“The Counselling department is as ready as its ever going to be” Talia offered a brief smile, she was more nervous than she cared to let on.

Thomas looked at his team, all were prepared with their weapons, and equipment that they would be needing. "Away team is set Captain."

"Defensive systems are ready, and data from the tactical sensors is synced with the fighters." Daxer said from the tactical console. "Interference from the moon is causing sensor issues, but I'm good to go otherwise."

"Marines ready, ma'am." Chiyo reported. "Our Marine Valkyrie escort fighters are hot and on standby to render assistance to the main fighters, and a landing force is being assembled as we speak."

Once everyone confirmed they were ready, Taiga opened a shipwide communique. "All hands this is the Captain. We are going yo begin our attack on the Elachi Nursery. Report to battlestations and let's show the Elachi that we will not permit them to take our people!".

Taiga gripped the arms of her chair. "Ok. Let's do this. Take us in!"

Lt. Yuvek increased power to maneuvering thrusters and navigated the ad-hock strike force of vessels along the moon's orbit, careful not to accelerate too greatly and draw the attention of the Elachi sensors.

"We should be clear of the moon's sensor interference within the next 12 minutes, ma'am" Lt. Yuvek called out over his shoulder.

"Once we're clear, targeting sensors will be able to lock on to individual Elachi defensive targets, but that also means they'll be able to see us coming." The Helmsman said with slight apprehension.

"Lets not waste any time then," Taiga said simply. "Charge all phaser banks and load all torpedo bays. We're going to hit them hard and fast. Lets not give them any time to react."

[Starfighters]

"Snowflake to all pilots. Lets hit them hard! You have your designated targets, weapons hot on Tokyo's command!" Fubuki said over the inter-fighter comms.

"Roger that Snowflake," came the response from Twin-Tails. "Weapons hot over here, ready to engage."

=A=This is Gemini,=A= Nozomi radioed in from her fighter. =A=Triumph Squadron is in position; targeting systems are online, payload is hot, and we are ready to engage.=A=

"This is Ducati One," Vyse said over comms. He was still annoyed that he hadn't found a good callsign. Maybe Fubuki would help him get one. "Ducatis are also ready."

"This is Pickpocket:" Mika radioed in from her fighter. "Harley Squadron's ready to rock and roll!"

[Tokyo Bridge]

The Tokyo and its Starfighters came over the planet and was soon in range of the Elachi nursery on the nearby asteroid. "Full impulse ahead." Taiga ordered. "Take us in nice and close. When we're in range, weapons free!"

Lt. Yuvek studied the read-out on the nursery as the sensors began to reioriten themselves once past the distortion of the moon. Once Lt. Yuvek was able to accurately gauge the distance he initiated short bursts of the Tokyo's thrusters to build the necessary speed to bring the vessel to the nursery. If he had engaged the impulse engines, even at a quarter of full power, the vessel would've shot past every target that was quickly populating tactical's station.

As the ship moved away from the moon, the tactical sensors lit up with details information about the facility. She quickly realized that the coordinates she'd given them were slightly off.

"Helm, adjust your course to new target coordinates 441 mark 25." The Vulcan woman said, inwardly cursing the bad sensor data. "Sending new target data to the fighters."

Lt. Yuvek resisted the urge to complain aloud about the sudden change in coordinates. It was already going to be hard enough to properly guide the massive vessel into a safe position relative to a stationary fortress like the nursery, but to do so while also coordinating with the Starfury's made it even more difficult.

"Aye, adjusting course to 441 mark 25" The Helmsman called out as he adjusted the pitch and the roll of the vessel to keep it within relative distance and appropriate firing range.

As the got within weapons range of the shield generators, Daxer sent the signal to fire, then let loose with a full volley of phasers, and torpedoes (minus one) all aimed directly at the shield generator. The last one, she saved specifically to destroy the generator the moment they had an opening.

[Starfighters]

"Snowflake to all fighters. Open fire!" Fubuki ordered over the comms after the order from Daxer came up on her screens. "Stick together and give them hell!" She gripped the sticks in her fighter tightly as she pressed down on the trigger. The phaser cannons erupted into life, sending pulses of bright orange energy bursts at the target.

"Opening fire!" Twin-Tails replied as she followed suit and her phaser cannons along with the rest of the wing erupted into life. Pulses of orange energy darted across the void of space, striking the Elachi shields in the same spot. The green bubble shimmered at the impacts.

Rin, gripped her sticks as she also opened fire along with the rest of her wing. She looked briefly over at the starfighter next to her. Her twin brother was also 'giving them hell' to coin a phrase.

=A=Triumph Squadron, Assault Vector Formation!=A= Nozomi ordered as she jammed the yoke of her fighter forward and dove in with phaser canons blasting. =A=Fox maneuver, I repeat, Fox maneuver!=A=

Within seconds, she was joined by her squad mates, who wasted no time in dumping the brunt of their payload on the facility's shielding grid.

[Bridge]

Taiga looked back at Daxer on tactical. "Daxer. Report on their shields?"

"3...2...1.." Jen counted aloud just before she tapped a single button on her console. She launched the last torpedo from her volley, landing a direct shot on the shield generator. The ship rocked just a bit from the close range explosion. "Their shields are down. Our forward shields are down to 80 percent."

"Don't give them any leeway!" Taiga said. "You give them an inch and they'll take a mile. Wipe thet generator off the map. I want it in thousands of pieces!" Taiga ordered. "Then hit that comms array!"

Still waiting for the torpedoes to reload, Jen hit the shield generator with several phaser shots, blowing it apart with the help of the star fighters.

"It's done." The Vulcan woman said, pausing as her display lit up with several new targets. "The station's defenses have been activated."

Talia was sitting watching everything whilst hanging nervously onto her seat. For now that was all she could do.

"Use the Torpedo and Phaser Cannon point defense system." Taiga ordered in response. "Anything we miss, fire at will."

"Activating point-to-point defenses, and priming torpedoes for the second assault." Jen said, as her hands danced across her console. "The COMM array will be in weapons range in 5 seconds, Captain."

"Do it," Taiga said simply. "Have the Starfighters engage those turrets. Then have them circle around keeping an eye out for any hostile bogies." Taiga added.

Once the Tokyo had swung around and opened a burst of fire on the turrets the ship finally came to rest over the Elachi nursery. Taiga stood up from her command chair. "Commander. I believe its time for you and your strike teams to beam down and get our people back."

"Yes Captain." He replied as he tapped his badge. "Johnson to away team... transporter room. Its go time."
