Personality & Traits

General Overview Commander Nishikigi presents a cheerful, happy-go-lucky demeanor, going about her day-to-day life with a spring in her step and a smile on her face. Some wonder if she might be a bit too bubbly for her own good, but in reality this plays into one of her greatest strengths as an Intel Liaison- her ability to play dumb. She often has a way of luring her contacts into a false sense of security with her purported naivete, which she can then manipulate to her advantage, be it coercing sensitive information from her clients, or constructing a complex profile that can help her in predicting their future activities.

Having been diagnosed with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome from infancy, Commander Nishikigi has come to view all life as precious, and as a result has committed herself to using exclusively non-lethal means to subdue her opponents.
Strengths & Weaknesses + Loves to challenge herself with high-profile cases.
+ Much more intelligent than she appears.
+/- Selfless to a fault
+/- Refuses to kill under any circumstances.
- Acts like the child at the worst of times.
- Suffers from Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome, a congenital heart defect.
Hobbies & Interests - Cute Things
- Sweets- mostly cake, but if it's sweet, it's likely got her name on it.

Personal History Chisato Nishikigi was born September 23, 2366, as the first and only child of Masato and Kohana Nishikigi. Shortly after she was born, doctors conducting a routine pulse oximetry screening observed that the level of oxygen in her bloodstream was abnormally low. After running some further tests to verify a hunch, she was diagnosed with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome, a congenital heart defect. She would undergo several corrective procedures over the first 18 months of her life in an effort to increase blood flow to the body and to bypass the poorly-functioning left side of her heart, but doctors warned her parents that she would continue to suffer complications of this defect for the rest of her life.

Growing up, Chisato was a rambunctious- if easily-tired- girl. Having a congenital heart defect and not being able to play with the other kids did little to diminish her resolve; if anything, it strengthened her determination to be a normal kid, and it was this fighting spirit that would in part instill a lifelong love of the challenge.

Sadly, when Chisato was just eight years old, both of her parents were killed during the Breen attack on earth. With no other living relatives to care for her, she was put up for adoption and was eventually taken in by Commander Mika Sadow, a Starfleet Intelligence Officer. Having survived the Breen attack himself, Commander Sadow felt something of a personal obligation to families who had been effected by the devastation left in the Breen's wake. And it would seem that Chisato felt something of a similar obligation, as upon Commander Sadow signing the adoption papers, she Sadow was reluctant to teach her initially, as she was now legally his daughter and he had no intentions of putting her in harm's way. However, after a year of her persisting, he realized this was really what she wished to do, and began clandestinely training her for the Starfleet Intelligence program. He made clear from the outset that this field wasn't for the faint-of-heart, as attaining confidential information could often see operatives placed in very dangerous situations. Chisato, however, only saw this a challenge, which in turn only strengthened her desire to learn the ropes, even if it took her a thousand failed attempts.

Commander Sadow was pleasantly surprised by Chisato's drive to succeed, so much so that when she formally enrolled at Starfleet Academy in 2384, she placed the application with flying colors, and faculty had to do a double-take to make sure she hadn't cheated.
