Returning in disgrace

Mission: The Elachi Return

The Tokyo dropped out of warp just behind the Romulan vessel in the neutral zone. Three additional warbirds decloaked, one either side of the Armitage Class Starship, the other aft as if covering all bases.

"Well; seems like they had additional support in case we tried anything" Taiga said as she stood up in the centre of the bridge. Still they had no news of the location of The Prowler.

"Sensors are picking up four vessels approaching at high warp." Jen said from the tactical station. "They are Federation starships."

Four Starfleet ships dropped out of warp opposite the small fleet. The lead ship, a Galaxy Class was escorted by a Defiant, Prometheus and the Tokyo's ship, the USS Armitage.

"They brought the big guns" Taiga said simply.

"They are hailing us." Dawnah fiddled with the adjustments. "Putting it on screen." she open the channel on the main screen.

An image of a young looking woman appeared on the screen. The distinct layout of the Galaxy Class bridge behind her. "Captain Aisaka. I am Commodore Misaki of the Harekaze. We are to escort the Tokyo back to Federation space to rendezvous with the Starship Myogi" the red haired woman said simply. "Also" she paused. "By orders of Starfleet Command and the Federation council, Captain Taiga Aisaka. You are being placed under arrest. You will transport aboard the Myogi immediately upon arrival. The Tokyo will be under the command of your next available command officer".

Taiga stood there shocked. There was no fighting her way out of this one. "I... understand Commodore"

Misaki nodded. "Good. Once we've crossed the neutral zone you will surrender your vessel and yourself to Admiral Miyahara, the ranking officer in this sector. Your crew will then set course for Earth". With that said the channel cut off casting a silence over the bridge.

"I find that female Admiralty tend to lose basic manners the higher they elevate Ma'am." Dawnah said to Aisaka.

Taiga couldn't help but smile. "That always seems to be the case in most accounts" she replied.

Taiga turned to Daxer. "Commander. Since Commander Knight is not on board and presumed missing. I relinquish command to you"

It took several seconds for Daxer to process everything that had just taken place, but in the end, she knew there was no choice in what must be done. Doing the only thing she could, she let her face become a mask of Vulcan logic. "Forgive me, Captain... I have no choice." She finally said as she stood up.

"Seems to be the theme of the day" Taiga commented.

She looked over at the security officer who had just arrived to her side at the wrong time with a report. "Ensign, please take Captain Aisaka into custody, and confine her to quarters."

"You can't do this!" The young man blurted out. He tried to take a step towards the viewscreen, but Jennifer held a hand out to stop him.

"It will be alright, Ensign." She said simply. "Just escort her to her quarters, and post a guard... Nothing more."

Begrudgingly, he walked over to where Taiga stood. "Captain." He said quietly, gesturing to the turbolift. "If you'll come with me, please?"

Taiga simply nodded. She had nothing to hide, nothing to fear. She stepped into the turbolift quietly without saying a word.

Shingo looked up from his console, having eavesdropped on the conversation as he worked.

"Dear god," He muttered. "Do they mean Admiral Miyahara, as in Takeshi- I mean, Lieutenant Nakazato's old CO? Mercy be on Captain Aisaka's soul..."

Daxer moved to the center chair, logging herself in, before looking up. "Helm, set a course for Federation space, and engage at warp two."

Mikko had stayed silent through the whole ordeal. "Aye sir" she said gloomily. "Setting course, matching speed at warp two with the lead ship back to Federation space"

Daxer pressed a button on the arm rest, instantly opening a ship wide channel. "Attention all hands, this Lieutenant Commander Daxer." She said as a start. "By order of Starfleet Command, I have relieved Captain Aisaka of duty, and am assuming control of the ship. I want all department heads to meet me in the observation lounge in 20 minutes." She said, then cut the channel. That would give them enough time to drop Taiga off, and and at least try to get her head somewhat straight. "Since I'm going to be sitting here for a bit, let's get someone up here to raise the height on this chair too."

[Main Engineering]

Hobb heaved a sigh as he heard the news. That the news had come as a shock to him was an understatement. Last thing he'd heard was that they'd been ambushed and all hell had broken loose. They were still bringing systems back online and patching and repairing the ship as they went. Not great timing. He redoubled his work, trying to get his task done before the meeting.

[Bridge]

Ryuuji Takasu entered the bridge. He walked right over to Jennifer. "Commander, what the hell is going on with Taiga?!" he asked. He seemed frustrated and to come all the way upto the bridge from the Hangar Deck showed just how much dedication he had and how much he cared for her.

"I was ordered to place her under arrest, so I've confined her to quarters." Daxer said simply, that mask of logic still firmly in place. "She's being framed for the destruction of Alvatar Colony."

The words hung ominously in the air, as she said them, and for several seconds, no one said a word.

Ryuuji sighed. "Does this mean I better bunk with someone else?" he asked. He knew that there would be a guard and he lived with Taiga. "Or should I go talk to her for you?"

"She's only going to be aboard for a few more minutes, so you're free to remain bunked in your quarters." Jen explained. "We're about to transfer her to the USS Myogi for transport back to Earth, as soon as we cross into Federation space."

"You're just going to let them cart her off for something she didn't do?" Ryuuji asked. "There's got to be a way to kick up a stink about all of this? We all saw that we're not responsible for what happened at that colony!" he said getting frustrated. His only world was Taiga, they had been together for a long time and he would fight for her as long as he drew breath.

"Commander, you're letting your emotions get the better of you." Daxer's Vulcan logic sined through in that oment. "I was on the Bridge. I saw what took place, and I want to see justice done, but with the evidence they have against her, there is nothing we can do... yet." She added as an after thought. "We will get her back."
