| Physical Description | Dawnah is a Nuvain female; humanoid with the more pronounced forehead ridges and the most significant is the 24 fingers between her two hands; of the 12 fingers per hand 4 are opposing thumbs, aside from that is a normal female. There is the reputation of being the best massage practitioners in the Galaxy. Dawnah is a natural Bleach Blond with blue eyes. She does not often let it more than a decimeter (4 inches) past her shoulders. There is a bronze pigment in the Nuvians, Dawnah’s is darker as she spends a lot of time out of doors on shore leave. Off duty Dawnah wears the more flowing type tops and miniskirts and even sometimes she will wear a Bikini Top under a button up in a tropical style pattern. She resembles a surfer style of clothing, she often has a smile on her face and often humming a tune to herself. Dawnah is somewhat self-conscious about her hands so has a ‘Coy’ style mannerism to the casual observer with her hands behind her back when speaking to another. |

| General Overview | Dawnah is a chameleon type of person who is a Nuvian; usually with their innate knowledge of the Humanoid Nervous System Stimuli and Massage Therapy usually go into the Medical field; however, she took an interest at a young age took up the Ham Radio as she was raised on Earth. This matched with her dexterity quickly gave her a love of communication systems. The exception to this is her self-concious nature due to childhood ribbing by others about her hands. She was skilled and ridiculed by others lealous of her skill using her “Alien mutated hands’ to demean her by other children and into adolence. It has spark a shy nature about her hands and she go to lengths not to showcase her heritage. Her being raised on Earth; she tended to follow more human hobbies and learning. She came to love the out doors and especially the beach; some might call her a Beach Comber or ‘Beach Bum’ yet to her she just loves the sea. This gives her a more laid-back mentality to things; she can almost seem ‘Reclusive and ditzy’ at first glance; however like a famous Blonde actress said, ‘It takes a lot of brains to play a convincing Dumb Blonde.’ That is Dawnah; she is very skilled and sharp under the guise of a Surfer Girl type mannerisms. She observes all around her, coming from a Slave Race just a few generations ago she was raised a bit leery of things. She does not do well being in large gatherings as she is reclusive by nature. The only exception comes when she is questioned about her professionalism or talked down to as a Ditz female. As per her professional skills; she is quite well versed in her knowledge and com pedant to do what she had trained to do; gets on well with her fellow crew but keeps a lower profile. Only when she is off the clock does her bubbly personality come out and especially among those she calls friends. Dawnah is a supportive member of any team in a quiet manner and an asset to the the Communications Section of OPS in Star Fleet as a whole. |

| Personal History | Dawnah is a Rare Nuvian born on Earth; most of her formre Slave race resides in communities and rarely more than a thousand can be found in one place. They tend to be utilized in the Massage trade and make lucrative livings on Risa and through employing their skills. Earth is a great center of freedom yet less that fifty Nuvians reside on Earth. Dawnah’s parents run a very upper scale massage and rehabilitation center based on Massage therapy and some commercial applications for more resources Her Mother worked the Earth based center while her husband was a contractor for pleasure ships. Her eldert Brothers also works contract as his father while her sister supports the Center with her mother. Dawnah was born into the Massage business after only five years of being established on Earth; she was taught to use her ‘Unique Heritage.’ A Chinese form of Tai Chi is very close to the style of protection they use, emphasis in the Qigong philosophy of healing and health. Unlike many Martial arts which use pressure points the Nuvian knowledge lent well to the Qigong using the whole body rather than Key Pressure Points like in Acupuncture. The massage techniques of the Nuvina methods and the brain synapses to control individually 24 fingers with the most superior knowledge humanoids the Chinese seem the closest to Nuvain skill set by Federation Standards. Dawnah grew with her parents in a Hospital in China town on Earth Los Angles district in close association with a Shaolin Temple. Thus, Dawnah had the mix of both Human and Nuvian techniques; her Mother and sister learned well but the time and fact Dawnah was raised among the monks at an early age. Her youngest Brother showed talent in art and his ‘Finger Paintings became of value in the Art World; sensitive touch with the texture of papers and paint formed unique Artistic Renderings very different yet also comparable to a brush painting. It was while in the monastery she met her best friend Kung Hai; who taught her both to surf as well as he and his Father’s Ham radio system. An archaic means of communications but a still practiced hobby on Earth. The Hai family were technicians for Sub-Space relays and often Kung and she were taken to work with the Father and sparked a deep-rooted love of Communication Systems. She also took to Beach games and Surfing sports for recreation. Like her Brother this an artistic side to Dawnah as she makes mechanical sculptures with clockwork innards. Being a minority in Federation Space she was given a form of scholarship to attend Star Fleet, she was slotted to go into the Medical program until she changed to Operations with a specialty in Communications. Dawnah had experience with real world problems in the production and repair of Sub-Space Relays and another communications apparatus. Showing knowledge and skills she graduated in the top 22% of her graduating class. Her first Cadet Cruise was on a Nova Class Vessel Darwin; while on patrol Dawnah took it upon herself to do fine maintenance along the connections of the subsystems. After several refits the connections could use some cleaning in her opinion and being able to use finer manipulations of her tools she improved the communications sub-systems by 28% over-all performance. Going on her first tour on the USS Vigilance as a Communications Officer under the OPS department. She had shown promise in her last command and this gave her a hand up on this Duty Rotation; she became the Lead of the Gamma shift Communications Section. Here she took to the maintenance schedule with her team, they had started to get the systems up to working order. The ship was a Capitol Vessel and had seen combat many times; the ‘patchwork repairs’ of the systems were obviously done under duress and very harsh conditions. With her ability to adequately use several small instruments in her hands to make minute ‘cleaning’ of the connections. It was put down as ‘Light Maintenance’ on the reports. What Dawnah did not account for the fact her repairs would affect the operations of the Communications Array, she merely wanted the system to remain operational. It was some modifications to the Data Relay System, she had been witnessing to the Girls in Astrometrics complaining of a slight lag in the Data speeds. She had taken her added maintenance time to break down the connections again; cleaning and when she found a few data modules that were showing signs of abnormal wear and tear upon the individual components. She took the time to get replacement parts and even checked the next upgrade and modified it to fit the slightly older systems. The data speeds were up to specs and it time for a Flotilla operation focused on a Pirate ‘Wolf Pack’ making havoc for the shipping lanes. The added resource was vital in the multiple ship operations. Going through her duty rotation she kept making micro repairs during her duty Time. The Operations Chief took note of her efforts and made a recommendation for advancement. The USS Burnham; a Galaxy Class ship, having earned the next rank she was given to be the chief on the Beta Shift of Communications. The upgrades to the older class kept her nearly new as off the line, Dawnah kept her time split between the Bridge and repairs; taking special projects. Her skills in Communications, her experience with the Sub-Space relay network. With the current technology the ship went on a survey mission, when pounced upon by an Alien Attack Flotilla that the Burnham was victorious but with the loss of the Secondary; Star Drive, hull. Only the Saucer Section survived; badly damaged but serviceable, helm had it locked in a firm orbit after weeks of travel. The M-Class planet sustained the survivors while the Engineering and Operations Personnel worked on the remaining ship systems. It was the fact the ship had ventured far away from the nearest Sub-Space Relay ability for the damaged Communications Array; targeted by the enemy so not to call reinforcements and after the battle could not call for help. Survival training from the academy came into use the two months of the settlement construction and getting the camps established. On her off-time she had played with an idea of butchering parts from burnt out sub-systems, taking the salvaged parts and piecing together the needed relays. One of the Generators that had worn out bearings and other components. What Dawnah did is to use the housing as a basis for her new project, she was creating from scratch a modified Ham Radio style communications system, using the salvaged parts to piece together a Transmitter, not able to make it a ‘Transceiver’ as for the power required to make a strong enough signal to reach the Sub-Space relay. The problem being she needed to transmit would require the use of one of the few shuttles able to work under Full Impulse; the shuttle bay and the weapons array were also targeted. What Dawnah managed was a Hour long transmission from past the edge of the Solar System so not to have any obstructions for the signal. The usual signal bandwidth is condensed for transmissions; but with the Ship’s main system a wreck the best she could do was create a Distress beacon type signal with call signs and astral coordinates and the Relay would have to patiently ‘wait’ the slower transmission speed then condense and transmit the Distress, the signal from the shuttle to the Relay took a week in what should have been hours but a month Later two relief ships came to rescue the crew. Having made the grade, she was assigned a Capital Ship; an Akira Class, the USS Tokyo as a Communications Officer under the Operations Department. She had a Lead position as her duty billet was under Operations. |
