Mission: The Nursery
Location: Bridge
Timeline: Current

It was time, the Tokyo was scheduled to depart in a few minutes time. Taiga walked onto the bridge which was bust, a nice change than what it had been for the months prior. All of the bridge officers had reported to their stations and were already starting preparations to launch.

"Right people," Taiga said rather informally as she lowered herself into the center chair. "Are we ready to go?".

“Engineering is green across the board. We are up 3% of our previous normal on energy output from the reactor core. All subsystems nominal.” Sarah reported from the Engineering console, having left Iren in charge of Main Engineering for the departure”

"Intel has compiled everything we know about the Elachi and uploaded it into the ship's computer," Chisato reported from her station. "All major communications channels have been silenced outside of priority one messages from the Admiralty."

"Marine resupply is complete, and Marines will be rotating combat training while we're en route." Chiyo reported from the second officer's chair. "They'll be ready to kick some Elachi ass once we're on station."

“Counselling is ready for whatever is to come Captain” Talia offered a somewhat nervous smile from where she sat.

Without need to go into details, Nezuko gave her Captain a thumbs-up when she looked at the Ops station.

Looking at the chairs screen, Thomas looked over. "All other systems and departments confirm. Lets go to the rescue."

"Sickbay reports ready. All systems operational. The doctor is as ready as he'll be" Eli called up from sickbay. The last of the supplies had been stowed. All the sickbay systems had been repaired and software patched. The first time since he was thrusted into the CMO role, that Eli could proclaim that he had a fully operational sickbay ready to treat any injury or malady.

Jen exited the turbolift, with a PaDD in hand. Unlike what was probably expected, she continued to wear her civilian outfit. There was no point in getting into an uncomfortable uniform, if she was only working as a civilian contractor.

The Vulcan woman quietly moved to stand off to the side, not wanting to be in the way of any of the bridge officers. She'd been here before and knew the drill, but this was different... She wasn't actually a member of the crew.

Talia took note of the fact that that they had a newer arrival on the bridge. She smiled as she looked towards Daxer. “There is a mission advisor’s seat if you’d like to sit down.” She motioned to the seat, having made a point of learning who sat where on the bridge when she’d first arrived onboard ship.

"I'm aware, Lieutenant." Daxer replied simply, her lips curling into an almost imperceptible smile. It was an unusual thing for a Vulcan, but those who knew her were well aware that she was anything but typical. "Right now, I'd rather just stand here out of the way."

"Is it just me, or did that Vulcan just... smile?" Chisato remarked.

Taiga chuckled to herself as she looked back at Jen. She also noticed that the tactical station was unmanned. The ship currently hadn't yet recieved a replacement for the position of Chief Security/Tactical Officer.

"Hey Jen. You're familiar with the tactical console. Since we've got no one currently manning it, why not fill in for a bit?" Taiga suggested. If anyone knew the Tokyo's arsenal it was Jen.

"I might be a little rusty, but I bet it comes right back." Jen said with all the emotion of any Human, as she moved to the Tactical console. It took her only a few short moments to login, and calibrate the console to her needs. With all Jen and Taiga had been through, it wasn't all that surprising that her security codes still worked. What did surprise her was that no one else seemed to have any objection to a civilian manning the ship's weapons. "All tactical systems are operational, and we have a full compliment of torpedoes. Shields and weapons are available at your command."

"OK. Operations clear all moorings, seal the airlocks and switch to internal power," Taiga ordered.

Nezuko nodded and set to work. In succession, a series of audible alerts sounded across the bridge. AIRLOCKS SEALED. MOORINGS CLEAR. INTERNAL POWER STABLE.

"Helm. Clear our departure with space traffic control and take us out on thrusters. Once we're clear set a course for the Remella System. Warp Eight." Taiga looked forward at Yuvek at helm before relaxing back in her chair. "Engage."

"Aye ma'am," Came the Helmsman as he guided the Attack Carrier through its departure routine. Within moments of receiving clearance from Starbase docking control, Lt. Yuvek guided the vessel from its docking moor through the use of its maneuvering thrusters. Once the Tokyo was a sufficient distance from the station or any incoming vessels, Lt. Yuvek laid in a course at one-tenth impulse away from the station.

"We'll have cleared the station in the next 30 seconds, ma'am," Lt. Yuvek announced to the Bridge. "Laying in course for the Remalla System." He stated, increasing power to impulse engines and bringing the warp drive online.

As soon as the Tokyo was clear the ship jumped to high warp.

Taiga shuffled on her seat as the ship began its journey to the Remella System. She turned to Thomas sitting next to her. "We've got three days to get ready for this attack." She told him quietly. "How's the crew holding up?"

"As can be expected. Nerves are on edge... but we are as ready as we will ever be." Thomas replied looking over. "How are you doing... I know this has a personal aspect to it." He was quiet with his question not wanting to broadcast it to the crew.

Turning to face the viewscreen it was obvious that this was weighing heavily on Taiga's mind. She looked back at Thomas. "I'm holding up. We'll get there, and I fully intend to make those Elachi pay for what they've done."

"Captain, a word with me in your ready room please." Thomas replied turning to her.

Taiga blinked a few times in surprise. That had caught her by surprise. "O....k....?"

Taiga pulled herself up out of her chair, not easy now that she was getting more and more pregnant. "Major, the bridge is yours," she said to Chiyo. "Commander?" She said indicating to Thomas to follow into the ready room.

Nodding, he stood, looking over to Talia briefly. Giving a heads up, he followed the Captain into the ready room.

With the ship underway, and Taiga moving off to the ready room, Jen decided she was going to take a walk to check out a few places on the ship. She stepped back from the console, gesturing to another security officer who had been standing watch. They took her place as she quietly exited the bridge.

"I have the bridge." Chiyo confirmed with a nod, moving to assume Taiga's seat in the center of the command pit.
