Mission: The Elachi Return
Location: Alvatar Colony, Romulan Space, USS Tokyo

Previously on Star Trek Tokyo:

"We need to get the ship out of range," Alora said. "Recall the fighters. We're going to need more help." They needed to get information on that ship, and she had an idea that just might work, but it would require Alex and the Prowler.

Taiga took a few seconds to look at the mayhem unfolding on the viewscreen. She took a deep breath, she wasn't one to run away. However with no way of disaing the vessel, or get someone aboard to take it out from the inside she had no choice.

"Bring us around Ensign" she ordered. "We need other options, a full attack isn't working" she said. "All fighters cover our retreat and return to the Tokyo".

"Bringing us sbout" Mikko reported from the helm. The Tokyo began to swing around in space. "Captain, the alien vessel is pursuing. Its slower than us, we can out run it if we need to"

And now the continuation...

(Space)

"Well, you heard him!" Iowa exclaimed as she pulled out some wiring under her console, having performed a basic bypass to get her fighter's engines back online. "Every man, woman, and child for themselves!"

Unable to risk another hit to her already crippled fighter, Iowa took off towards the Tokyo.

"That's not what she meant..." Saeko muttered as she watched Iowa blast off. "Coward..."

Unlike Runaway Riverside, Saeko would make sure the Tokyo's retreat would be covered. She would only follow a return to base order if it came from either the wing commander or her squadron leader. Until that order came, everything was still fair game.

"Step right up!" She shouted as she blasted away enemy ships and projectiles with her fighter's new guns. "Step right up!"

Rinka sighed as she watched Saeko unleash her weapons. She swung her fighter around. "Crazy horse. Get back here, don't go in alone" she ordered. "We're retreating. Don't make me ground you for being an idiot out here!".

"Killjoy..." Saeko grumbled as she moved back into formation.

"Sharp shooter to Sorceress. Your orders?" She asked. True that Takeshi was in command of their docking and flight deck procedures, but the retreat orders should have come from D'lar. She shook it off as a honest heat of the moment mistake, plus she didn't know what sort of shape the TIC was in. For all she knew it was heavily damaged.

"Trigman had taken his squadron into a 'Skirmish battle pattern; his objective to engage as many fighters as he could and pull resources into combat, Two objectives were in these tactics: one is to destroy as many fighters as was possible or damage a greater number of enemy crat as possible and the second was to keep forces in combat and concentrated away from the Tokyo.

Of his fighters six broke off; three flights of two, closed distance on the enemy ship. The art of evading friendly Fire was most of his concentration as two very large ships engaged. HIs wingman; a newer pilot Scott Jones; 'Code name Spider' took a full torpedo hit. The battle cry before he impacted the weapon made it seem to have taken out one less weapon to attack Tokyo.

"Form up on me." Trigman heading into the deefensive line of the enemy. "We make a single pass then fall back." Was his order.

He locked up a Bogie and after the spread of phasers into the enemy it exploded. He then bank and was on his reciprical course back to the main fight; his small wing of ships right behind him.

"Twintails to Trigger" Silica called over the comm. Her fighter had taken a beating, however she had kept close to his side. "I've taken a few hits, I'm down to one engine. Its running hot" she explained. She glanced down at her engine status, it wasn't good. If she kept this up or took another hit from anything, she could lose it meaning she'd be dead in the water. The worst possible fate for a Starfighter pilot.

=^= I am on your wing, power it down to one quarter, keep it moving and let it cool. =^= Trigman transmit as he brought his fighter in line with hers, then dropped back a bit. =^= I have your back.=^= Trigman was one to follow Pilot standards, one did not leave a bird behind, with the recall orders he wold make sure that she arrive with him protecting her Six. =^= What is your status, are you okay?=^=

"I'm a little beat up" Silica replied. Her head was throbbing from a few enemy hits, but she could still fly. "I can still keep up at that speed Trigger. Pressure levels are dropping down below the danger line. But I may need a lift if this engine gives. I hope your tractor beam is working" she said her voice slightly nervously. The young pilot might be good, but with her systems failing it was like navigating a sports car through thick mud.

=^= If the other engine starts to over heat cut the first, you can take it in on a solo engine, just make sure you are on the Glide Path and the Tokyo Tractors will pull you in. =^= Trigman directed. =^= This is just a walk in the park to the ship, you keep the Good Engine below boost and it should be enough for you to get down safe.=^= He assures while circling on the 'Z' access to get a look at the damage. =^=

"Understood Trigger" Silica replied. She did what he said, making sure to keep a close eye on the engine levels. 'Chief Takasu is going to have his work cut out for him fixing this when I get this on the deck' she thought to herself. At least now with Triggers help she could get it home in somewhat one piece.

"Harley, you're in first, followed by Yamaha, then Triumph. Wait for the signal from Nakazato. Ducati, just don't get shot. Got it?" D'Lar ordered. Now it was up to the Air Boss to get everyone in and he deck cleared.

"Got it," Bobby Sue replied. "We can do some defensive drills. Ducks, anyone who gets shot before we land cleans the lounge for a week."

"Nakazato to D'Lar." Takeshi spoke over the comm. "Since one of the pilots from Ducati already landed without authorization, how about we bring the rest of the squad in?"

"You know, you could practice some manners, sonny," came Phyllis' reply. Then she activated the comm channel to the pilots. "Gray Ghost, you're grounded until you pass remedial training. You pull a stunt like that again, I'll have your wings. Is that understood?"

"Sorry, Sorceress!" Iowa replied. "Heat of the moment mistake: I was more worried about not getting cooked than staying in formation: It won't happen again!"

"You bet your sweet bippy you won't," Sorceress replied.

=^= Tokyo... Tokyo... This is Call-sign Virago, Repeat Call-Sign Virago...=^= The young pilot said as he gave a sixth try at the Throttle controls. =^= Battle Damage... Throttles are on full Impulse, negative on all cross checks of Throttle control, I am coming in hot...=^=

Pilot Tidwell knew what had happen; the shot he was a glancing shot had to be a hit that fried his main Throttle leads and without new impulses the engines were on their last setting for combat speed. His fighter would be approching like a missle, he could cut the engines and risk a flare of drives or the power surge over-loading the engines.

=^= No chance of Negative Acceleration, I cannot brake due to Thrust locked on full. Request landing instructions. =^= Tidwell knew well this is a controlled crash rather than a landing.

Takeshi had received Tidwell's distress call and was closely monitoring the radar whenever it didn't decide to shower him in sparks to ensure the pilot was within 5km of the ship before responding. But, the least he could do was at least get the ball rolling.

"Nakazato to Takasu." He opened up a comms channel. "Get to work rigging those barricades: Looks like we've got somebody coming in hot!"

"Takause here" Ryuuji replied as he mobilised the deck crew. "Activating barrier system, fire crews are on standby" he motioned with his hand for them to get into position. A few seconds later, the emergency crew were into their positions.

"Takasu to TIC. Flight deck ready for controlled crash landing" he reported.

To be continued...
