From the inside out (Part 1)

Mission: Captains & Contraband
Location: Romulan Starbase

Previously on Star Trek: Tokyo

"Taiga to all Teams. Begin hostile takeover operations" she ordered.

And now the continuation....

Taiga stepped over the dead bodies of the Romulans and looked down at the Operations center of the starbase. Many of the Romulans were injured or dead laid on the deck. She knew that her people were safe, they hadn't been aboard the Troy. Luckily they had all transported off to various sections of the starbase shortly before it blew. Now that the command structure was decimated Taiga and the teams from the Tokyo could now start to eliminate the station from the inside out.

"Aisaka to Daxer. I've eliminated the Commander and Starbase Operations is out of action" she said tapping her comm badge. Taiga wanted to take out the command structure before they did anything, she knew more than anyone that without someone in command then a base, even as big as the one she was on would fall easily.

* Elsewhere on the base *

"Understood." Daxer said. She was currently standing in the shadows created by the loss of some of the lights. She'd been separated from her group, when two Romulans tried to grab her. Now she was standing over their lifeless bodies, attaching a sound suppressor to the end of her pistol; both of which had been hidden in the pockets of her leather jacket. "I'm on my way to you. Others will undoubtedly try to kill you, and I want to get to you, before they do."

As she moved out from the shadows, she looked around. The area was chaos, but most she saw were not looking for a fight, or so it seemed. She knew that the others would carry out her orders, even she wasn't with them. This gave her the confidence she needed to get to Taiga, and protect her.

*Engineering*

John cussed violently as he heard the communication, and so did the Romulan engineer right infront of him. Using the plasma torch quickly, the humanoid had a burn hole that you could see the spine through. -^-Little bit of warning next time-^- he said as he picked up the plasma pistol the engineer had been carrying. Firing two more shots, two members of the engineering team disintegrated. Dropping the weapon, he quickly moved to the access panel of the core of the base. Shutting down the containment field, he turned to grab the pistol again, and coming face to barrel with a Romulan rifle. "Great, this is not how this day was going."

*Elsewhere*

T'Shenn had been separated from her group but that didn't mean she was defenseless. Her smaller blades in her hands, she moved silently and swiftly through the corridors killing any soldier that had gotten in her way. Many didn't even see her coming as she stabbed them in the back or slit their throats like the dogs they were. A few had the lucky chance to die like warriors. They still didn't put up much of a fight, but her outfit now had cuts and blood on it. her face was cut up as well. There were a few burn marks on her uniform but she still kept moving until she found one of her people.

Meanwhile Taiga didn't hesitate placing spatial charges in places that were vulnerable. She came across a Romulan security team, who seemed confused. They were shouting at each other trying to figure out where to go. Taiga ducked into the shadows and drew the Romulan disruptor ready to fire.

Each of her shots hit apart from one. One of the Romulan's returned fire which shot the pistol out of her hand. She winced in pain. Her hand was badly burnt, but thankfully the pistol took most of the damage. She used her other arm to grab a hidden knife she had been keeping under her belt. Luckily she was much quicker as she pounced on the Romulan knocking his disruptor from his hand and sending him to the floor.

"You just pissed me off you bastard!" she shouted as she delivered the edge of the knife through the Romulan's right eye and up towards his brain. Green blood splurted out as she jumped off. She wiped the blade with her shirt and looked down at him, her blade had obviously done superficial damage to him as he now laid motionless on the floor. The sound of quiet footsteps could be heard from behind her so she immediately ducked back into the shadows.

Leading the the quiet foot steps was a silenced pistol as Jennifer made her way slowly into the room. The Tricorder she'd just put away had shown Taiga in the room, and now she was looking, and hoping the woman was still alive.

She was about to pounce again, but this time she recognised them.
"Daxer!" Taiga said as she stepped into view after recognising the person as Jennifer. Knowing she was now with an ally she picked up the Romulan's disruptor and fastened it to her belt. "We need to re-group and hold out long enough until the Tokyo can arrive" Taiga said.

As Taiga moved, Jen went to lower her weapon, but then brought it back up in Taiga's direction.

Taiga looked at her, once again she was pointing a weapon at her. "Daxer?" she asked as she tightened her grip on the knife's handle.

Without a word, Jennifer pulled the trigger just once. the gun let out a soft *pewt!* sound, and a live round flew right past Taiga's ear, and into the head of a ROmulan, who promptly collapsed to the floor. "You're welcome." She said, finally lowering her weapon.

Taiga looked around at the Romulan now on the floor.
"Thanks" she said. "Now we should regroup with the others" she explained. "Any ideas where they are?"

"Since we're trying to disable the rest of the station, Engineering would be the best place to start." Jen replied. "Taking out the main reactor is the best way to cripple the station."

"Agreed" Taiga said. "Lead the way".
