Sometimes Mutiny is Good?

664 words; about a 3 minute read

Mission: Behind Closed Doors
Location: USS Yamato

[USS Yamato - Federation/Romulan Neutral Zone]

"Captain. We're picking up a message from the USS Tokyo. Priority One" the young ensign at Operations said as she tapped on her console.

"Ignore it" Admiral Jepson said as he sat back in the center command chair.

"Ignore it sir?" the young woman asked.

"Yes" He said. "Ignore it, and don't bother me with messages from that pathetic excuse of a commander"

Captain Kaede Kayano who had been sitting to his left, where her mission advisor usually stood up. "Read that message Lieutenant. I want to hear it" she said as she stepped forward towards Operations.

"Belay that order" Jepson bellowed.

Kaede turned around, rage in her eyes. "The Tokyo could be in trouble and you want us to sit here while we collect space dust and analyse it?" Kaede snapped back. "Thats not happening on my ship!"

"This isn't your ship anymore. You're relieved Captain" Jepson shouted at her, getting close to her face. His breath stunk like a garbage pile and his face was stern and wrinkled.

"Oh am I?" Kaede said. "What you going to do about it?"

"YOU!" Jepson yelled looking back at the Chief Security officer. "Escort Captain Kayano to the brig, and make sure she doesn't get out!"

Kaede looked back at her Chief of Security, he was her trusted friend and had been her Security Chief since the Yamato had left spacedock. While Jepson wasn't looking he gave her a quick wink before pulling out a phaser and making his way over to them.

"Sorry Captain. I'm afraid that you're going to have to come with me" he said playing along holding the phaser at Kaede. She looked into his eyes, after you've worked with people for a while it only took a look to make them know what you wanted them to do.

"I have one more thing to say Admiral" Kaede said as she turned to face him.

Jepson laughed. "Its like you're giving me your final words. Well, I suppose they are aren't they. Your final words as a Starfleet Officer". He couldn't help but smirk.

"I suppose, but you won't like these words" Kaede explained with a strange smile.

"You can't possibly hurt me with words, I have your ship now. So go ahead"

"Ok, are you ready?" Kaede asked. Jepson nodded a smile on his face, he crossed his arms as if he had won.

"My final words are.... FUCK YOU!" she turned quickly grabbed the phaser out of the Security Officer's hand and instantly shot Jepson square in the chest at point blank range. He fell to the deck with a thud, his overweight body hitting the deckplates like a sack of potatoes.

"Thats enough of him!" Kaede said.

"Helm. Set a course for the Tokyo. Maximum speed!" she ordered. Everyone on the bridge clapped and cheered, they had all hated having the Admiral on board, he was a horrible commander and a nasty fool of a man. Kaede looked around a little confused at her crews reaction.

"As much as I love celebrating, the Tokyo needs us" her first officer said rising to his feet to calm down the crew. He approached Kaede and put a hand on her shoulder. "What do we do with him now Captain?" he asked.

"Have security throw him in the brig. We should also have the doctor come and look at him. We don't want that nose of his to bleed all over the carpet" Kaede explained with a sigh.

"Nose?" he replied. "But Captain, he hasn't injured his nose has he?" he asked as he crouched down slightly to get a better look.

"Has he not?" Kaede said with a grin. She moved closer and with a swish of her boot there was a nice, rather satisfying crack that echoed around the bridge. "You seem to be mistaken...."

"You enjoyed that didn't you?" he asked with a slight laugh.

"You're damn right!"
