Mission: Starship Graveyard
Location: Conference Room, Deck 1, USS Tokyo
Timeline: Approximately 1 week since "Into The Lion's Den"

Previously on Star Trek Tokyo:

Taiga nodded in response. "They will be kept out of all restricted areas. We will also increase security around them too." she replied. "We can use the transporters to beam them to the Tokyo and render any weapons they have on us useless. I would also want them all to be screened through medical."

"They will presumably be motivated by the prospect of escape," Nezuko said via her PADD speaker. "We have a plan to be free of this planet and are willing to take them if only they give us their impulse engines and stay away from critical systems. As far as deals go, this one is very good."

And now the continuation...

"Indeed," Taiga said. "There is one other thing that we need," she looked over at Rea.

Rea tapped on the console to pull up a schematic of the Romulan Mogai that they had picked up. It then zoomed in on their singularity core. "The Romulan Singularity core is more than just a replacement for a warp core." Rea said.

"The class of singularity drive installed in a Mogai is also designed to make the ship more maneuverable. It does this by changing the the warp field, essentially making the ship 'lighter'."

The Helm Officer chimed in at the mention of the Romulan singularity drive. "The Romulans use an Artificial Singularity Drive to control their vessels. The drive works by harnessing a particular type of radiation to either heat plasma for the warp coils or directly energize the coils. The ship would then rely upon nullifier coils to then shield the singularity possibly helping direct matter into the singularity." He explained.

The obvious pros of utilizing their singularity drive is that it doesn’t require any additional antimatter or dilithium crystals, which are volatile on their own, let alone what would happen with trying to combine a new warp core." He said. "However, the very real and significant con is how notoriously difficult it will be to control it." He said.

"The singularity is designed to evaporate if containment fails or if its not fed enough power on a consistent basis. To put it plainly, if we encounter some kind of technical difficulty during escape, then the field could partially fail and trigger a failure of the warp field. We'd be torn to shreds instantly." He said gravely.

We will just need to ensure there are no technical difficulties during escape,” came the monotone voice from Nezuko’s PADD. The light in her eyes made her view plain to see. She meant it in jest but also trusted that it could be done.

"Captain; if you speak of sending 'envoys' to these crews; might I suggest sending our Science Officer, T'Shin, to the Vulcan cruiser Oning?" Tatsuo said. "They were valuable allies in our fight against the Saviors, and I'm sure we could convince them to reforge our old alliance. We never asked for their engines in return, though, so it may take some... Convincing to get them to agree to your terms. But I have utmost faith in T'Shin to get the job done."

Taiga pondered on his officer for a moment. "I think that would be a good idea. I want Warrant Officer Roromiya to go aswell to represent the Tokyo."

"Ma'am, I will go visit the Cardassian crew of the CUV Retav, but it's best if I go alone. There's no telling just how long the crew has been down here and how well they'll take to seeing a Federation security detachment greeting them." He said with obvious uneasiness.

Taiga nodded at her helmsman. "Can you handle this alone?" She asked.

"It's best if I do. The very idea of telling a Cardassian crew to put their faith in the hands of the Federation is going to be difficult enough. If they're are even open to listening, then I have the best chance of convincing them of the validity of this plan." He said.

"Good points," Taiga replied. "We also need to consider their history. When they were in active service the Federation and Cardassian Union were likely still engaged in the border wars. They've had no contact since then, so make sure to take a PADD with our historical database loaded onto it." Taiga said.

Jasad knew that it would take more than a historical PADD to convince his people, especially survivors who had served during Cardassia's era of imperialism.

"Yes ma'am" Lt. Yuvek replied.

"Commander Moklor, you'll be best suited to deal with the Klingons." Taiga asked as she turned her attention to the Klingon fighter pilot.

"That leaves the Ferengi..." Taiga said as she pondered about who to send. The Tokyo didn't have any Ferengi officers on board, they were few and far between on Federation Starships. "Commander," she said as she looked at Thomas. "Would you be able to negotiate with them? No doubt they'll try to sell you something, so make sure we have something to trade with them."

"I will do my best," Thomas nodded. "I will take a list of our inventory that I can use to assist with the negotiations."

Taiga then turned her attention to Nezuko and Kylynn. "I want you two to start sensor sweeps of the ship's that are within scanning range. Look for lifesigns. The more people we can save the better. We are still a Federation Starship, so I will offer escape from this planet to those willing to help achieve that goal."

Nezuko nodded her assent and locked eyes with Kylynn. They would do their part, and hopefully save more than a few lives.

"Acknowledged captain" Kylynn replied as she looked at Nezuko.

"If you manage to convince them to provide their engines, we will offer them safe passage back to their people. Have their crews transferred to the Tokyo." Taiga said simply to them all. "Counsellor, since Commander Johnson will be busy. I want you to organise places for our guests to stay. Double up in crew quarters if necessary.."

Talia nodded. “That could be a tall order Captain, I may need to use one of the cargo bays depending on how many people we ferry out of here, and the condition of the bays themselves. I’ll do my best.”

"Lastly. One thing we will offer them is medical assistance." She turned to the doctor. "Everyone of them will be required to undergo a physical upon arrival, for everyone's safety. Have your staff prepared and ready." She said.

"The Romulans are going to be the most tricky to join our cause. Especially with us needing their Singularity drive." Taiga said. "I will deal with them personally here on the Tokyo." She stated.

"What about Intel, Captain?" Chisato asked.

Taiga turned to look at her Intelligence Officer. "If the crews of the other ships agree to help us. I want you to download their databases into our computers. No doubt they'll have logs, reports and sensor data that we might find useful. That information should be stored securely and can be returned to their governments as well."

"Understood," Chisato nodded affirmatively.

"Ok," Taiga said finally. "I will hail those ships with crew in one hour. In the meantime, if you're going as a envoy. Each of you prepare a shuttle and have it ready to leave in an hour. I don't quite trust the transporters just yet." Taiga told them all. "Once they have responded, I'll send you the word to go."

Tatsuo and Chiyo nodded silently.

"Get on it people. Dismissed." Taiga told them all.

Talia rose from her seat. She had a lot to do if she was to find space for the survivors to come aboard the ship.

Thomas nodded and grabbed the padds that he had placed on the table. He glanced over to Talia "I probably won't be home for dinner, or much later. Don't wait up."

Talia nodded. “I understand. Just give me nudge when you get home.”
