Andromeda
Location: Meeting area
Thomas walked around what seemed to be hours, to, god knows where, everything was the same all around him. He knew he was moving he kept thinking about what he could do to have some fun with Jeff. However he stopped. Perhaps thats the whole issue. Perhaps its time to put his childish behavior and start acting like a starfleet officer. This could be a time where it really mattered. After all, by the sounds of it. Jeff had indicated that the federation was at risk.
"Jeff, I'm done with the walk there is something that I do want to discuss with you. As a representative of the Federation... and by the sounds of it, a representative of the milky way. I would like to discuss things with your masters. It is only right I talk directly with those threatening trillions of people."
'Jeff' appeared about two meters ahead of him. "Prove that you are worthy and my masters will consider your request." The Herald said simply.
"How do I prove myself when they refuse to do anything but hide, no disrespect meaning. If they want to be noticed, then come forward."
The Herald continued to look at Thomas for a brief few seconds. Then he was suddenly transporter in a haze of black smoke.
The room was brightly lit, circular in shape and strange vein like conduits ran up the walls. The conduits seemed to be more alive and pulsating strange purple liquid like blood. The entire room seemed clean and sterile. Suddenly several strange aliens appeared.
They floated off the ground and seemed to be made up of strange energy. Their 'clothing' was pure white and seemed more like an armoured exo-skeleton. However their main bodies were different colours of energy similar to fire and plasma. Five of them stood in a semi-circle in front of Thomas.
Finally the one on the middle spoke, it's voice sharp and strict. "Speak Human." It said simply.
Thomas paused, clearly aback by what had just transpired, this was what he asked for, yet did not expect it to happen. Looking around the room, and then to the five iconians, that stood before him.
Straightening his clothes, he forgot he was no longer in a starfleet uniform but instead whatever they put him in. A dull grey Jumpsuit. Kind of reminded him of his academy days.
"First of all, despite the circumstances of this meeting, on behalf of starfleet, the federation, and who ever else... I want to say it is an honor, and a privilege to stand here in front of you. The scientists of the milky way has been studying your peoples for generations, trying to decypher the kind of people you are, to understand you as a people. Some avenues saw you as conquerers, others as scientists such as ourselves."
Thomas looked at what seemed to be the leader of the five. Taking a deep break he walked over. "I know we may seem like mere ants in an ant farm we have back home on earth. But we are... growing, wanting to expand our knowledge and our alliances with other groups. We may not be of your realm of technology, but we are taking steps to grow. One of those, is an extension of friendship... in this case a dialogue, which I am hoping can lead to whatever is going on, to stop and we can discussan information exchange... Je... Your Herald here has been an... exemplary host. He also has a mean right throw, would be a good pitcher for a baseball team back on Earth."
Pausing, he thought about the diplomatic training he had went through... needless to say, being the first to try and broker an information exchange between the Iconians, and starfleet was not on his list of to dos, or anyones for that matter he figured.
Extending an hand. "My name is Commander Thomas Johnson of the USS Tokyo." He paused unsure of response he would get from the Iconian.
Thomas was transported instantly back to where he had been standing. "You dare to approach a God Human?!" The middle alien said. "I shall humour you." It said seemingly in pity. "I am M'Tara, council leader of the Iconian Empire." The Iconian said proudly. "Why would we need to be equal with a violent and aggressive race such as Humans?'
"We are not perfect , we have disagreements, sometimes that does involve war. In retrospect, you are right. We are aggressive, we are a young species, to you all the races of the milky way are young. That does not mean we aren't worthy. You say we are violent, but we are growing as a people. We are becoming less violent by the generation. There are some out there that thrive on violence, but does that make them any lesser of a species." He paused. "My extended hand was brought about about 700 years ago on earth, to show that we are unarmed, and to offer a sign of peace. Not violence."
Looking around, he noticed all five, seemingly with the same look on their face.
"Fine, you want my honest opinion. This is my honest opinion... what gods would go out of their way to conquer a galaxy then complain that the galaxy that they are using violence against is too violent, and aggressive." He turned, "Even without the time to reach out and try and start a dialogue with those people. The federation is open for dialogue, as well as many other species. Sure we all have our vices, our own gain. Romulans will probably want weapons, control, Klingons will want honor to their house. Ferengi... Well any latinum you have will probably disappear or they will try and swindle it from you. The federation, we aren't perfect but we would be willing to have a dialogue with you, share information. your herald has been trying to get information from me, information of which could be found just by simply asking. Asking does not say we have to be friends. But it is an opening for peace. Or at least not killing each other at the very least."
Pausing, he looked at his hand once again. "Again I greet you, the way I greet any member of a new people. With peace, respect and trust... that you don't kill me for the most part... again."
His response was met by eerie silence as each of the Iconians looked at each other in turn as if communicating non-verbally. "You claim friendship yet even your Federation cannot make peace or enlightenment with the others in your galaxy." M'Tara said simply.
"Dispose of it now. This is a waste of time!" One of the Iconians said, this one was pink in colour and seemed far more aggressive.
"Remain calm T'Ket." M'Tara said holding a hand to the other. "You are the warrior, but your thirst for combat should not be filled here."
"My apologies sister." T'Ket replied.
M'Tara turned her attention back to Thomas. "The Milky Way Galaxy is more violent, fragmented and aggressive than we thought." M'Tara stated to Thomas and then to the others. She then turned to the others. "We must speed up our preparations. We cannot allow this to continue. As for the Human..." she turned back to Thomas.
"As the superior lifeforms that came second to the preservers and seeded your galaxy, we will show you mercy." M'Tara stated.
"I said get rid of it!" T'Ket objected. "What purpose does it hold?" A strange spear like weapons, similar to the Heralds appeared in her hand and she held it out, pointing to Thomas. "I can grant you a merciful death."
"Enough T'Ket." M'Tara's voice bellowed. T'Kets spear disappeared instantly and she returned to a less threatening stance. "Human. You have made your plea, and we all agree. It is not good enough. You however will be a valuable specimen for further study."
M'Tara held up a hand pointing at Thomas. Then an image of a Dyson Sphere appeared holographically between them. The image zoomed inside to show a detailed image of a starship, the USS Tokyo. It was so detailed that if you looked closely the ships crew could be spotted through the viewport. "We detected your vessel the moment it arrived in our Sphere. You have sent a small craft to one of our power plants. Do you intend to sabotage our home? You will fail."
"I can destroy that ship." T'Ket said.
"No T'Ket." M'Tara said strictly. She pointed at Thomas. "This Human is going to give us access to their technology." She looked at Thomas. "If the Humans intentions are peaceful, we will know from how the Humans react. If not, then we will then and only then destroy them." M'Tara stated. "Tell us how to access your technology Human. If you do not, I have no reason not to exterminate you and the vessels crew and find a way ourselves."
"Us humans have a saying, Rome wasn't built in a day. The more we seek knowledge of our galaxy, the more people we meet, the more people we meet, sometimes, first contact does not go peaceful. The Klingons, and the federation, we were enemies for a long time, but we are now the allies, and have been for a while. There have been squirmishes. We are young. As I said, sometimes young ones fight. Does it mean we have to eliminate the child in order to restore order. Most of the time, the proper information to the child is all thats in order to correct the error of their ways."
He turned to M'tara. "My offer still stands... to answer your question... since I was on the elachi nursary, I have no idea what they are up to. My ship is here. As I offered the Herald to act as a third person. One of starfleets primary missions is to make peaceful contact. Why they are going to your power plants... I have no idea. But come with me to the tokyo, and we will find out. Any information we have that you wish to obtain from us, will be offered, and I hope what information you have for us will accepted with gratitude. Hopefully something more than die you violent lab rat."
M'Tara seemed to ponder for a few moments. "You will tell the Herald how to access the vessel's systems. You shall remain here until we complete our evaluation." She waved a hand and once again Thomas disappeared in a haze of black smoke transporting him back to his 'room'.
M'Tara turned to T'Ket. "You are curious about these Humans. You can be the one to lead this endeavour sister."
"I shall not fail." T'Ket stated simply. One by one each of them disappeared in hazes of black smoke leaving the large circular room now empty.
