Mission: The Nursery
Location: Elachi Breeding Chamber Prep Lab

Previously on Star Trek Tokyo:

Yoshika slowly sat up, using one hand to run her eyes. She looked down at her body, the lower half of her uniform ripped away. "Oh come on. Not this again..." she sighed. She looked over at Daxer. "Let me guess. The Elachi got us? They attached tubes to my belly?" She asked. She looked over at Kurumi. "And hers too?"

"It didn't go well for them, when they tried doing the same to me." Jen said as she moved to grab the rest of her things. As she started attaching clips to her belt, she looked up to find both women staring at her as if she'd just performed some unbelievable feat. "What..? Oh that...?" She gestured to the headless Elachi bodies scattered on the floor. "I don't play well with others. Now get your gear, and let's get the hell out of here."

And now the continuation...

The access corridor situated off to the side of the breeding chamber was divided into multiple sealed rooms, each meant for the preparation of the Elachi breeding victims. After a few moments, the silence of the corridor was interrupted as one of the doors exploded outward.

As Daxer stepped through with Kurumi and Yoshika, the doors to the other rooms in that corridor opened up and several Elachi scientists emerged looking for the source of the explosion.

At the moment the scientists began to emerge, time seemed to slow down in Jen's perception; her focus squarely on the moment. "Nope!" she said aloud, followed by several explosive gunshots as she emptied a full clip into the numerous Elachi scientists that appeared from the other doors.

"Subdue that!" The Vulcan woman said as she replaced her empty clip with a fresh one. "There may be more victims in these rooms. We need to help who we can."

"Sure..." Yoshika said a hint of uneasiness and nervousness clear in her voice. "Just. Don't shoot any hostages ok..."

"I tried diplomacy before I woke you up." Jen said as she primed her gun, then gestured towards the control panel for the first door. She aimed at the door, as she spoke again. "It doesn't work."

"Yeah, we see that..." Kurumi smirked. "So, do you have a plan which isn't all Rambo?"

"I don't know what that means, but if being all Rambo means getting us out of here alive, then... No." Jen said with a raised eyebrow. Realizing the woman hadn't gotten the hint to open the door for her, she moved to thumb the door controls herself. "Right now, we need to move on."

"Old movie reference..." Kurumi said as she and Yoshika moved towards the door.

The room inside was lit in a dim light. It seemed to be some sort of medical chamber, square in shape with strange equipment pushed against the walls. A computer console stood infront of a strange looking bed. The bed resembled something out of an old fashioned dentistry office. It had various forms of equipment, tubes and wires coming out of it.

On the strange bed was someone laid, held at a slight angle. Yoshika didn't wait for order she rushed over towards the person on the table. She looked them over. Carefully she reached out and held two fingers to the person's neck checking for a pulse.

"I don't recognise this species," She said simply as she looked over them. "Its not a species that I have encountered before. But I can tell you that there is no pulse, so I presume that they are deceased." She said sadly. "The alien does look female, and there is visible evidence of experimentation on them..." she pointed to visible scars and machines attached to the aliens body.

Daxer had been the first to enter the room with her weapon ready. As Yoshika examined the body, she took in the scene around them. What her keen eyes saw didn't settle well with her.

"They're learning how to wipe us out..." The Vulcan woman said as she put more and more pieces of the puzzle together. "Fuck!"

"I would say thats a possibility." Yoshika said. "Although this person obviously died due to... whatever they were doing to them."

"This is so much worse than what we initially thought." Jen said as the gravity of the situation made itself clear to her. They weren't just after a single faction. They were after the entire quadrant... Maybe even the whole galaxy. "I'm adding an objective to your mission, ladies. You need to make sure I get back to the Tokyo alive."

"I would prefer we all get back alive..." Yoshika said in a disapproving voice. "And also avoid having any Junior Elachi inserted into our wombs. I think we should focus on that too." she replied as she stepped away from the deceased alien.

"I'd prefer the same thing, but this order supersedes everything else." Daxer said as she headed for the door. This made her wonder what they'd find in the next room. "If the Elachi realize what I've figured out, they will very likely try to kill me to keep the information contained. That can't happen."

"They'll try to kill all of us if they think we know," Kurumi added.

"That's the whole point." Jen stopped at the next door, turning around to face Kurumi. "This information needs to get back to Starfleet Command. Whether it's me, or one of you... this is the top priority."

Jen thumbed the controls, bringing her weapon up as they entered the room. The room was almost exactly like the previous one, except a pregnant Human was laid up on the table.

"She's still alive." The Vulcan woman said, lowering her weapon. "It looks like they were trying to experiment on her."

"Wait..." Yoshika said as she pushed past Jen. "This is Doctor Hinamori! But she's meant to be on the Tokyo!" She exclaimed. She immediately began to shake the do tors shoulder.

"Amu! Wake up! Amu!" Yoshika called out whilst shaking the doctor. "Daxer. Secure the door, we need to get her out of here." Yoshika said.

"Need to make it quick." Jen said, moving to stand by the open door. She kept watch down both directions of the corridor. "This place is likely to be swarming with more before long."

"Well you seem good at keeping them away," Yoshika said as she began to manually examine Amu.

A few moments later Amu stirred and finally opened her eyes. "Amu!" Yoshika said. Amu looked up at the nurse confusion on her face. "Yoshika?" She asked. "What are you doing... Wait... Aren't you on the away team..."

"It's a long story Amu. But basically we got separated. However, we're not leaving you behind. I'm going to get you free." Yoshika explained. She began to try and pull off the restraints around Amu's wrists and ankles. However they wouldn't budge.

"Daxer. A little help?"

"Stay very still." Daxer said as she approached. She examined the straps, then one by one she yanked them off to free the Doctor. "I don't think they've encountered many Vulcans."

"Speaking of Vulcans..." Amu said as she rubbed her wrists. "The Elachi also took Marine Captain Beurling and Counsellor Johnson. I was held with them before they brought me down here. I guess they're in the room above us." Amu explained. "I think they separated us because all three of us are pregnant."

"What does being pregnant have to do with anything?" Jen asked, giving the woman a raised eyebrow.

"I overheard them talking. It seems they are trying to find a way to..." she stopped for a moment. "To sterilise Humans. They ran strange experiments on me..." she added sadly.

Jen stood there staring at Amu for a few seconds as her words sank in. ~FUCK!~ was the first thought that came to her mind, but it's not what she said.

"Starfleet Command is going to have a field day with this." The Vulcan woman said seriously. "Before we move forward make no mistakes... Diplomacy is a dead end. These things can't be reasoned with, or intimidated. If you get a weapon and encounter one, you turn them into a bloody mess. Am I clear?"

"I don't often agree with violence..." Amu replied. "But I diplomacy isn't an option here..."

"I tried diplomacy, negotiation, and intimidation all in under two minutes. The result was five dead Elachi." Jen explained honestly, then gestured to Kurumi and Yoshika. "Get her on her feet and ready to go. I'm going to check the next room."

Yoshika nodded and helped Amu out of the strange table/chair. She wobbled a bit as her legs took her weight.

Jen left that room, moving to the door of the next one. She readied her weapon, then thumbed the control panel to open it.

The room was the same as the previous. But this one was empty. The only signs of life were blood stains splattered over the strange surgical bed. Bit they had long since dried and were now only a ghostly reminder of something far more sinister.

Jen quickly took in the scene before simply moving on to the last room. She wanted to make sure all of the rooms were cleared, before they moved on. With her weapon ready, she thumbed the controls for the door.

The last room was also the same. Once again it was dark and empty. A console just inside the doorway flickered and sparked as if it had been damaged and to one side was a corpse of what seemed to be a Romulan still clutching a disruptor pistol.

She moved to investigate the body, pulling the disruptor from dead Romulan. "I'll give you credit for trying..." She said before leaving the room to rejoin the others. "I found a weapon. Are any of you trained to use a Romulan disruptor?"

"Nope," they said in unison. Kurumi stepped forward. "It can't be all that different from a phaser though."

Jen handed the disruptor over to Kurumi, then turned to Amu. "You said two others were being held on the upper floor. Do you know how to get there?"

Amu shook her head. "No. However the rooms down here are identical yo the ones above. So of the rooms are the same, perhaps the corridors are too. Maybe there is an access shaft or some stairs?" She presumed. "It seems that the strange chairs they use can be lowered or raised into each room depending on purpose."

"There's a door at the end of the hall." Jen said as they started moving back into the corridor. "That's the logical place to start... I'll take point."

"Let's... not waste... any time..." Amu said as she caught her breath. "Sorry. Being pregnant... I'm not so... maneuverable these days."

They moved to the door at the end of the corridor. Once everyone was in place, Jen thumbed the controls to open it.

To be continued...
