427 words; about a 2 minute read

Mission: Sand Sea Fun and Surf
Location: Various
Timeline: During the Risa shoreleave

Thomas walked onto the deck which housed the security offices, it was time to start the upgrades, before the engineers had started their work on them. Although he had asked the engineers to avoid doing them, because they would be worked on, by the actual people that would be using it, they hardly ever listened.

"Are you ready chief?" he asked as he walked into the offices.

Trennek stood from his chair. He'd managed to procure one that would hold his bulk. "Always," he replied crisply to the Tokyo's first officer. He tapped a key on his desk that closed down his work station.

"So where do you want to start? I let the stations engineers know that we will be working on it, so they will be expecting us."

Trennek thought a moment then answered, "I don't have a problem letting them do the work, but I want to keep a close eye on what they do so they don't undermine what's been done by the ship's engineers to date... the short answer to your question is... I'd like to start with the ship's tactical systems."

"That is what I was hoping you would say, so I got everything ready before hand." He motioned to the box behind him. "Everything that we need is right there."

Trennek eyed the box. "Well then, we should get started. I think we should start with the targeting sensor and their interface with the weapon's systems."

"Sounds like a good starting point." Thomas replied as he picked up the box of parts.

Trennek easily picked up another box of tools and parts to work with, "All right then, here we go."

Walking down the hall... "So how do you navigate the tubes Lieutenant?"

"Well," Trennek began, and then a long pause, "frankly, I don't. I have to get someone to crawl in there for me. It's one of the two duties I cannot perform... unfortunatnely. Thanks for the help in advance by the way." He offered the Brikar equivalent of a small, sheepish smile.

"There is no shame into asking for help. We all need it." Thomas assured him. "What is the second."

Trennek looked at Commander Johnson for a moment with a face that might show mild embarrassment if Thomas knew Brikar better and simply answered, "When I need help with it, I'll let you know."

"Do not hesitate if needed." He replied as he entered the lift. "Bridge. You take care of the console, I will head to the jeffries tubes."

"Thank you for the assistance." Trennek replied.
