Mission: Sand Sea Fun and Surf
Location: Sickbay

Thomas walked into the sickbay, after talking with the chief security officer, he had figured, it was best before she headed out, and before he got knee deep into the upgrades, that the Lt had wanted to start on. Sure he could have taken control and decide what to do first regarding the upgrades. But it was not his department, and he figured the lt could use the confidence boost.

Looking around, he noticed a nurse in the corner. "Excuse me is the Dr around?"

The nurse turned. "Hi there" she said with a smile. "Doctor Hinamori is currently in her office" the young nurse smiled. Petty Officer Miyafuji wasn't quite sure who this new man was, but he was wearing a command uniform with the rank of commander. "I'll let her know you're looking for her..."

"Thank you." He smiled as he awaited.

A few moments later, a young looking woman with pink hair entered the room. "Hello there. I'm Doctor Amu Hinamori. Currently acting chief medical officer, how can I help you commander?" she asked softly.

"Commander Thomas Johnson, the Tokyo's new first officer. Just wanting to get my physical done before you hit the road for Risa." Thomas replied as he looked the sickbay over.

"Nice to meet you" Amu replied. "We have yet to have a full time Chief Medical Officer aboard, so I'm standing in for now" she explained as she gestured to a nearby biobed. "Take a seat and we'll get that examination out of the way."

Thomas walked over to said biobed. "What happened to the previous Chief medical Officer."

Amu smiled. "Commander Kah'leth along with other senior members of the crew transferred after our last mission. I believe he took a more important assignment on a larger ship" She explained as she opened up her tricorder.

"More important... from what I am hearing, the tokyo is important herself."

"I believe so" Amu replied. "However, after what we went through I can understand why a lot of people decided to transfer off ship" she told him. She indicated for him to sit down and get comfortable so she could start her scans.

Sitting down, "I understand why people may want the need to run. But for me its always been my instinct to run towards trouble."

Amu smiled. "Well, I like to avoid trouble if I can" she smiled. "I find that it usually doesn't end well for someone and they usually end up being in my sickbay."

"When you have a great CMO... then you dont have to worry about landing in sickbay."

"Flattery won't help you in here" Amu smirked at the commander. She wiggled the tricorder at him "The tricorder doesn't lie you know..." she grinned. "Speaking of which. It seems that you're in perfect health Commander" she told him as she closed the flap on the tricorder.

"Whats the chance of getting a CMO anytime soon?" she asked curiously. "Not that I mind filling in, but I have my own sickbay to run you know..."

"I just arrived, I will look into it for you if you wish."

"That would be appreciated. I'm used to running the flight deck sickbay now." she told him. "You'd be amazed how much trouble pilots, the flight deck personnel and marines get themselves into. Only the other week I had a poor petty officer come into the flight deck sickbay after the fire surpression foam activated on the deck...." she paused for a moment. "I'm telling you now commander, that foam. Its good at putting out fires, not so good when it sticks to your skin like super-glue"

"I'll contact a few people see if there isn't anyone free " He replied. "Remind me to avoid the foaming area."

Amu smirked. "Well, its only used in emergencies. Have you checked out the flight deck yet? Its quite impressive, even though I'm a doctor I have to admire the engineering and technical skill that went into its design".

"Im actually making my rounds... I am off to see a Lt Jenson after this"

"Ah, our new Counsellor." Amu smiled. "I hear she's been quite the 'hit' with the crew. I need to find some time to meet with her. Afterall she looks after the health of the mind, and I the health of the body."

"Ive looked her file over... shes related to a previous officer I worked with. I will have to check up with him."

"Well, be sure to mention that the Acting Chief Medical Officer wouldn't mind to say hello" Amu smiled. She picked up a PADD and began to tap on its surface. "Well, here's your clearance for duty. You can log this in the main computer when updating your records" she held the PADD out for him to take.

"I will be sure to let her know." He took the pad. "While im at it, is there anything you would like done while you are on leave?"

Amu pondered the question for a few seconds. "Nothing comes to mind. Apart from making sure that Starfleet Medical restocks our medical supplies and equipment."

"I will see to it that they are done, and look into getting a full time chief medical officer."

"Thanks. I'll see you around them Commander" Amu said as she turned on a heel to head back to the medical office.
