Securing an officiant

[USS Myogi, ready room]

Admiral Miyahara met up with his first and second officers, Captain Nishizumi and Commander Takahashi in his ready room. It was still a weird feeling to Miyahara that the two were also the bride and groom to be. But even Miyahara couldn't deny how happy they were in each other's presence.

"So, have you two decided on the location of the wedding?" He asked.

"It took much deliberation, sir, but we've finally decided to hold it in Kumamoto." Keisuke responded. "That's not the issue we wanted to discuss."

Miyahara perked a brow in curiosity.

"Well, then, what else seems to be the matter?" He asked.

"Well, as you know, Takeshi is going to be my best man." Keisuke explained. "We were going to have the service held by a Buddhist monk, but because of the rampant security risks the best man poses..."

"We were wondering if you would be interested in officiating instead." Maho completed.

Miyahara was touched by the offer.

"I was hoping that we've served together long enough that you'd know my answer." Miyahara explained. "I would be honored to:"

Miyahara extended a hand to Keisuke, which the groom to be shook.

"Glad to hear it." Keisuke said. "Now, about that security risk..."

[Security Office]

Miyahara and Keisuke went to the security office to talk to Lieutenant Tristana, the Myogi's Chief Security Officer on the issue of providing security for the wedding. Maho had broken off to go lie down.

"So, can you do it?" Miyahara asked.

Tristana looked up and smiled.

"Senor (Mister) Miyahara, you forget that I learned from the best:" She said. "My security is top notch! You'd have to be some ultra-macho secret agent to get past it: We'll set up your special perimeter sensors that can detect any kind of Federation-designed spyware, establish armed patrols, check the credentials of every guest for evidence of tampering, so everyone attending is exactly who they say they are, and if the groom wishes, we'll even establish a presence at the ceremonies."

"Now, now, we don't need the guests to feel like we're getting married in a prison." Keisuke said. "Just have a small presence on standby to call in the larger force from the perimeter."

Tristana smiled at Keisuke.

"Of course, Senor (Mister) Takahashi:" She said. "Just a few on the periphery of the events so the guests don't feel uncomfortable, but are on hand immediately in the event of a crash."

Keisuke nodded.

"I'll need an outline of your security measures so I can inform the guests about the upgrade in security." He said.

"Of course." Tristana replied. "I'll get that together once I have a plan in place."

"Excellent." Keisuke responded, turning to Miyahara. "Well, Admiral, I think that just about covers today's matters. All that's left is whatever Zack has in mind for my bachelor party."

"Has Takeshi mentioned having the party on the surface?" Miyahara asked.

"Knowing him, I think that's exactly where he'd want to have it." Keisuke stated. "Despite having an ankle monitor."

"Very well." Miyahara responded. "I shall make sure the shock function gets disabled, and that it only transmits the encoded GPS signal to Tristana."

Miyahara turned to Tristana.

"I hope you're prepared to spend all night in Transporter control." He told her. "You'll need to be on hand to beam Takeshi back up in case things get hairy."

"If I wasn't so dedicated to my work, I should belong on a ship of the disorganized." Tristana responded.

"Very good." Miyahara said.

"Well, now that that's settled," Miyahara turned back to Keisuke. "If you don't mind, it seems I need to speak with Lieutenant Nakazato to get his plans for your party. Don't worry: What he tells me will remain confidential."

"Of course." Keisuke nodded. "Thank you for your time, Admiral."

With the conversation at a perfect ending point, Miyahara and Keisuke turned and left the ready room.
