Thomas sat in the corner. Thoughts ran through his head, not seeing everyone back home. They were out of reach, even if they were alive, knowing the Captain, they were alive, and reporting back to starfleet. He was reported MIA, at best. But most likely KIA. Chances of him meeting his child. Astronomically low. He leaned his head against the wall, and shut his eyes.
"So is this how you go out Tom?" A familiar voice called out to him.
Thomas opened his eyes, and looked around, as he looked to where the voice was coming from.
"Its been a long time since you needed me." Came the voice once again.
Thomas sighed. "I don't need you. Look around. Things change."
"Sure they have. But you haven't. So you aren't where you started, but that doesn't change the fact that you need to get out."
"George... I am several galaxies away from the Milky way. Look out there, its impossible, where do I start?" Tom responded as he stood up and looked out the window. "This thing is massive. Larger than the star, if its as big as Jeff Let on... it may even house several planets as well."
"Remember what you were taught when you were younger. You know how to move forward with anything..." George replied.
Thomas paused a moment. "One step at a time." He shifted in his clothes. George was right. Even though George was only another aspect of himself... it was only in times that he truly needed it, that he actually made himself known.
"The only way." George replied
Thomas picked up his ball once again, and threw it against the wall. "Hey Jeff... I need to talk to you."
