Alora shook her head. "Are you kidding?" She pushed the two women apart and took the dagger from Tatiana. It was easier than she thought because the engineer looked a little dumbfounded at Taiga's comment. Alora felt the same way, but she was getting used to the captain's total lack of common sense.
[NEW]
"You," she said, pointing the dagger at the captain, "need to remember that we can't trust ANYONE from the Terran Empire until they prove themselves trustworthy." She was thinking of Alex, but that made her wonder where he was and what happened. She turned her focus back to the present. "I've dealt with them before. You're a fool if you trust that easily."
"And you," Alora said, pointing the dagger at Tatiana, "I don't trust as far as I can throw you." A smile flashed across her face at a memory of throwing Lex halfway across the lounge. "I want to know why you took control of all bridge functions and why you so casually accepted our appearance."
"Well, firstly, some complete and utter (expletive untranslated) blew a hole in deck one, so I just naturally assumed that the scat had hit the fan, and acted to protect the ship from someone with that obvious level of mental deficiency having access to vital systems, and as for casually accepting your appearance, I see some weird scat over the years, and this doesn't even rank top twenty. I figured just do what made sense and let the people paid to make decisions worry about the weird parts."
Alora half believed her, but only time would tell what type of person this engineer was.
K'Eltora had made her way with Tagia, protecting her Captain as she went.
Mirror T'Shenn ran into Engineering with a scared look on her face. She said, "Master Alora! There are intruder..." her voice died off when she the weapons pointed between the two women and gasped.
K'Eltora had her disruptor in her hand, pointing at the Mirror T'Shenn. She looked confused and asked, "T'Shenn?"
Mirror T'Shenn held her hands up and asked, "Who are you?"
K'Eltora looked surprised and said, "I am K'Eltora."
Mirror T'Shenn had a look of sadness pass over her face. "I knew a K'Eltora once. She was tortured to death for betraying the Empire. My brother turned her in hoping to get a better position. He was rewarded by being vaporized. I was whipped within an inch of my life and then agonized terribly until my will was broken."
K'Eltora looked down. This was not a warrior, not any more. She had it beaten out of her and unable to commit suicide in order to redeem herself. She asked, "Where is my T'Shenn?"
Mirror T'Shenn gulped and said, "She's in the brig with a small Bajoran."
K'Eltora's eyes narrowed. "Karlassa. They better be safe." Her aim seemed to straighten.
Mirror T'Shenn shrank a bit and said, "Last I knew they were stunned."
K'Eltora asked through gritted teeth, "Can you take me to them?" Mirror T'Shenn nodded emphatically. K'Eltora turned to Taiga and asked, "Permission to go rescue my wife and daughter?"
"Go," Alora said, knowing she would not be able to focus on anything else until she retried the Chief.
Five minutes after K'Eltora left, a voice came over the comm system. "Intruders, your interference will not be tolerated. Surrender now or die." And then, the power went out in Main Engineering.
