Today, 105 years ago the guns fell silent in France marking the end of the most bloodiest and violent wars in Human history. The great war is remembered every year on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month. Millions of brave people were lost in this long conflict and families across the globe were shattered or torn apart. We take this time to remember those who have fallen, giving the ultimate sacrifice to make the world a better place. We must learn from history and continue to remember those who gave their lives for each and every one of us.
Today here on the Tokyo we continue to write in the utopia universe of Star Trek. A world shaped by those who made sacrifices before us. Thankyou all for your participation and involvement in making a better future, even if it's fiction.
Today also marks a sad day for me personally. My long time friend and brother who I met through simming passed away 5 years ago. Arron Selter was one of my first CO's ever, he helped and shaped me to the person I am today. He was the kindest, most gentle and amazing man I have ever met. He always put people first, he had the biggest heart anyone could ask for. He was unfortunately taken from us after a motorbike accident. However, his death also helped others. His organs were donated and even after his passing, he helped save several people waiting organ donations. He was once here on the USS Tokyo, his character sits in our 'In Memory' manifest so we can remember him. I miss him everyday, but I know he's looking over us all. He lives on in our hearts and memories and he would be proud of what the Tokyo has become. "You have been... and always shall be your friend..."
