720 words; about a 4 minute read

Mission: Sand Sea Fun and Surf
Location: Shipyards
Timeline: Evening of Talia’s return from Risa

Decision made Talia and Thomas headed across to the shipyards promenade, there would no doubt be chapels for various species and faiths where people could worship. Not wanting to draw unnecessary attention Talia had packed a wedding dress she’d replicated into a dress bag, and was carrying it with her, when they found somewhere they both liked she’d change prior to their wedding ceremony.

“Are you sure you’re happy to do this?” She looked at Thomas concernedly, worried she was rushing him into something he’d regret later on.

"You only live once... if your not trill that is." he replied smiling. He kissed her gently. "Besides, it beats all the whole dating scene."

Talia nodded. As they walked her eyes fell upon a small chapel on the station promenade, it seemed another couple had the same idea as they emerged from the chapel celebrating with a small gathering of friends. “I hope we don’t need witnesses, I’ve only got one friend that I could ask so far, I don’t know if she’d be available.”

"I am sure, if we don't have any they can supply the witnesses." He replied as he noticed they were amongst several others approaching the chapel.

Waiting for the party to disappear she was soon spotted by the elderly Trill minister. “Ahh another young couple I see” he smiled. “Looking to be married are we?” He motioned them inside. “Come...tell me about the two of you.”

Talia gave Thomas a smile as she followed the elderly man, he was so warm and genuine it went a long way to easing wedding jitters. “To be honest, we’ve only just met.”

“True love has many forms young one” He smiled warmly. “In my lifetimes I’ve seen many young people come through here, I’ve attended a fair few myself as a guest. If your hearts are true, and your minds are clear of doubt then you’re welcome to marry here.”

Talia looked at Thomas. “There’s no doubt in my mind, I love Tom. I want to spend my life with him.”

Thomas smiled. "To crazy ideas... may the hearts be true." He looked at her, as he brought her hand up for a kiss. "When you know you know."

~ A quick change later ~

Standing at the altar the elderly man smiled as he stood before the young couple in-front of him. There had already been several interruptions to the ceremony, between comm calls for Talia, and for Thomas. They’d gotten as far as exchanging rings, before the latest comm call had slowed progress again.

“Can we...” Talia looked at Thomas then at the priest. “..skip to the end?”

There was a grin on the old man’s face as he nodded, and looked at Talia.

“Do you?”

Talia grinned. “I do! Yes!”

The priest looked at Thomas.

“Do you?”

"I do."

Talia’s smile practically shone as she looked at Thomas.

“In that case I am happy to pronounce you Husband and Wife!” The elderly man smiled. “You may kiss your bride.”

"With pleasure." Thomas replied as he did just that.

Talia returned her new husband’s kiss with passion, she could barely believe she was now married to the man of her dreams.

“Congratulations my dears!” The elderly priest offered Talia a hug, and Thomas a handshake. “I will see to it the official documentation is sent straight to Starfleet for you, and here...” he motioned to a young woman who was acting witness. “Is your official copy of the documentation.” He handed over a PADD. “Congratulations again Mr and Mrs Johnson.”

Thank you." He replied holding onto her hand tightly. "So wheres the next stop." He inquired looked at her. "Mrs Johnson."

“If I might suggest...” The elderly man smiled warmly. “We have two honeymoon suites here on the station, free for the use of those who wish it?”

Talia smiled and nodded. “That sounds wonderful ... if you’re happy to spend tonight on the station Imzadi?” She grinned.

"Sounds like an amazing night ahead of us." He smiled. "Not just because of the activities."

Talia grinned, then looked to the elderly man. “I think we’d like that, thank you.” She had no doubt it would be an amazing night.
