| Personal History | Born in 2359, Ceon was the youngest daughter of a Bajoran freighter captain. As a consequence, Ceon spent the majority of her early years in space, helping to run the freighter along with her family--immediate and extended--when she got a bit older. Finding her niche in navigation, Ceon decided to join Starfleet, and secured the support of a sympathetic federation commander. This decision, regrettably, was not received well by her parents; they had anticipated she would help keep the freighter running, though ownership would pass to her elder sister, Tiral. After much arguing, they grudgingly agreed to let Ceon go. Entering Starfleet in 2378, Ceon confirmed her love for piloting, navigation, and starships more generally. Encouraged by fellow cadet Eena Telal, Ceon applied for a vacant position within Nova Squadron in 2380, and was accepted. She did not, however, enjoy this flying as much as she would have hoped, and as a consequence, specialized in helming starships. Joining Nova Squadron, however, did lead to a close relationship with Telal, developing into a romantic relationship their last year at Starfleet Academy. The two married in late 2384. Upon graduating from the Academy in 2382, Ceon was assigned to the USS Nabakov, and gained valuable experience when the ship came under attack from rogue Klingons late that same year. During the ensuing battle, Ceon's actions--the chief flight controller had been knocked unconscious by the Klingons first volley--earned her a commendation for cool-headedness under pressure. She would stay with the Nabakov for the next four years. In 2386, along with her wife, Ceon was transferred to the USS T'Halath, an Intrepid-class science vessel, where she would remain until her transfer to the USS Tokyo. She was promoted to Lieutenant, (Junior Grade), in 2390, but almost turned the promotion down. However, Telal--a well-liked counselor's aid--convinced her to take it. Upon transfer to the USS Tokyo in 2395, Ceon was promoted to a full lieutenancy. |
